A pretty busy day on the return to pre-season, Che Adams announced as a Southampton FC player whilst Matt Targett unveiled at Aston Villa and Danny Ings completes his permanent switch to Saints.
Che Adams completes a £15 million transfer from Birmingham City after scoring 22 goals for the Blue last season. Adams signs a five year deal after nominated for EFL Championship of the Season and voted in the EFL Championship team of the year. Ralph Hasenhuttl had been chasing Che since January of this year and now has captured his number one target.
Matt Targett on the other hand has headed to Aston Villa in a transfer believed up to £15 million for the young left back ending a 15-year association with Saints since signing as a schoolboy.
And day one of pre-season and the true transfer window was capped by the official completion of Danny Ings’ permanent transfer to Southampton. A deal worth £18 million rising to £20 million with add-ons and bonuses and a 20% sell on fee for Liverpool. What next for Saints and who is on Ralph’s radar?
